I almost bought a sleek-looking stairs $ 15 -20, but I'm glad I didn't because this guy works perfectly. battery is preinstalled. like some other reviews have said that there is a button you must press back for some features. I pretty much only weigh things by default lbs/ozs so I that I have faced. but the company sent me an email with detailed instructions on how to do it. so, great customer service and products.
